La Casona Barbera - Francesco

Our space

Walking through the ristorante, we encounter phrases form beloved María Teresa, the soul of the Italian kitchen in Mendoza. Walls and objects are artistically intervened by artist Noe Roldán, who draw on the wine world, Italian cuisine and gastronomical Mendoza´s identifying products to design the striking murals. With over 45m2 painted, Francesco displays the largest artistic intervention of the city.

The Wine Terraces feature dedicated interventions for various emblematic varietals: in the murals, you'll find the Barbera varietal; in the barrels, leaves of Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Pinot Noir.

The interior of the house focuses on Italian cuisine. In the main hall, you can see illustrations of oregano, rosemary, tomato plants, and the typical thistles of the Mendoza landscape.

The heart of the house, called the María Teresa Gardens Hall, features artworks that integrate the impressive garden within the city with the identity elements of regional cuisine: apricot blossoms, tomatoes, peaches, lavenders, rosemary, mint, arugula, and garlic, among others. It is surrounded by centennial trees and represents a typical apple core of old Italian houses.

The VIP Room, called Blooming Olives, highlights this key element in gastronomy: olive oil. It is a serene place, surrounded by flowers and fruits of olive trees.

The underground wine cellar treasures iconic Mendoza wines. It features interventions with leaves of Malbec and Barbera. It offers sommelier service and private tastings.
